About

Stacey Mrva is a professional metal sculptor from Rochester, NY in the Finger Lakes region. She has spent over 25 years establishing a vast portfolio of custom pieces for both public and private spaces.

Mrva’s work is versatile, merging whimsy and humor with functionality. She most enjoys working closely with clients to translate their visions and bring them to life.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in sculpture from Syracuse University, where she originally went to study jewelry making/metalsmithing. That changed, however, once she got her hands on steel and began welding. She quickly fell in love with the idea of taking a cold, rigid material and transforming it into something with fluid and organic lines.

The stunning results have included everything from steel furniture and railings to public signage, interior wall art, and lighting — all made of hot rolled steel bent by hand and eye. Mrva’s pieces often integrate fabric, copper, concrete and wicker, shaping her signature style which can be tailored to any setting.

“I’m an artist but also a craftsperson,” she said. “I make things and I like to work with my hands but most of all, I like to create pieces that can be part of our everyday lives, making art accessible”

Her public installations can be seen along South Clinton Avenue in downtown Rochester, along Main Street in LeRoy, NY, at the Lodge at Woodcliff, Meridian Centre Office Park, and The Summit Federal Credit Union, to name a few.
